Ortonville Golf Course is a beautiful municipal course overlooking Big Stone Lake in the City of Ortonville. The golf course houses 18-holes and a club house featuring Alibi Lounge & Grill. The golf course is adjacent to Fairway View Senior Communities, allowing tenants and residents beautiful, scenic views year-round.
Big Stone Lake is 26 miles long and is located on the South Dakota-Minnesota border. The lake is the source of the Minnesota River and attracts anglers who catch walleye, northern pike, yellow perch, and bluegills. The lake supports over 30 species of fish.
The Ortonville area contains several popular nature areas, including Big Stone National Wildlife Refuge. This refuge includes 11,586 acres in Big Stone and Lac qui Parle Counties in Minnesota.
